Trio Mio is undoubtedly the youngest successful musician in the Kenyan industry. The 16 year old has already made a name for himself in the local music industry, with his hit song ‘Cheza Kama Wewe’ featuring reknowned Gengetone artists such as Mejja, Nelly the Goon and Exray. The young lad started singing when he was in class 6; but his breakthrough song was released 5 months ago (Cheza Kama Wewe). The young musician has also been given the name of the late Issa; because of their similarity in appearance. Trio is proud of it and appreciates the comparison. Lyrical Genius! Opening up about his explicit lyrics, Trio claims it has been tough for him to bear the judgements that people have. His mother, who’s also his manager, isn’t fully happy with some of his lyrics. ”Mum ananiambanga, wewe izo ni nini unaimba apa? My mum is my manager.” Trio had a scandal with his previous manager, who was allegedly conning him. Additionally, Trio is also a student, who is finding it hard to balance both music and education. ”Siezi wadanganya. Kubalance ni kitu ingine ngumu sana… Coz mi nikiendanga shule sometimes mi hufkirianga tu wimbo… After his breakthrough song, he has managed to do other big collabos with artists such as Fena Gitu. His song ‘Cheza Kama Wewe’ now stands at 5.9 Million Views. This is a massive achievement for such a young talent.
