Armie Hammer has released a statement following his exit from Shotgun Wedding, due to rumors about his social media posts.
A Lionsgate spokesperson shared with Variety that “Given the imminent start date of ‘Shotgun Wedding’, Armie has requested to step away from the film and we support him in his decision.”
Moments later, Armie also released a statement about his exit and the rumors.
“I’m not responding to these bullshit claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me,” he started, and added that he “cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic.”
Armie added that “Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that.”
