Taylor Swift‘s stalker is heading to jail.
A federal judge in Nashville, Tenn. sentenced Texas native Eric Swarbrick to 30 months in prison on Wednesday (September 16), Forbes
Swarbrick pled guilty to stalking and sending threatening emails to the 30-year-old entertainer’s former label Big Machine Records. The record label started receiving letters from him in 2018 where he asked CEO Scott Borchetta to introduce him to Taylor.
According to the complaint, Swarbrick sent over 40 letters and emails, which became increasingly violent and sexual.
He also drove from his home in Texas to Nashville at least three times to personally deliver the letters. He was arrested after wandering the halls of the record label.
After his release, Swarbrick continued to contact Big Machine Records, saying he was going to rape and kill Taylor and said he would kill himself in front of Scott and his staff.
This isn’t the first time Taylor has had to deal with a stalker. Back in 2018, Mohammed Jaffar was sentenced to six months behind bars and five years on probation after he was arrested at her NYC apartment building for burglary, stalking, and trespassing.
