Asamoah Gyan Reacts To Trolls After Ghanaians Remember His WC Penalty Miss Against Uruguay 10 Years Ago

Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has reacted to constant reminders of his infamous World Cup penalty miss in 2010 in South Africa as Ghana faced Uruguay with a chance of securing a place in the semis of the Mundial.

Asamoah Gyan who spoke to TV3 in the early parts of the year, indicated that he was still haunted by the incident and wished there was a way he could go back in time to make things right.

“Till today, any time I’m alone, it still haunts me. Sometimes I feel like the world should go back again so I can redeem myself, but I know this is something that will haunt me for the rest of my life,” Ghana’s all-time highest goalscorer said.

He then went on to bemoan the fact that people loved to dwell on the negative things in life too much and ignore the positives.

“We celebrate failure more than achievements. Me di333 I dey my corner dey enjoy myself. My family is very proud of me. That’s what matters to me the most,” Gyan noted.

Asamoah Gyan was presented a chance to make history for Ghana by sending to nation to its first-ever semi-final berth at a World Cup.

Unfortunately, Asamoah Gyan could not convert a penalty award to the Black Stars after Luis Suarez handled a goal-bound shot from Dominic Adiyiah.

As a result, many Ghanaian hearts were broken and it became a norm to always remind ourselves of the chance we had to make a statement to the world in the field of football worldwide.
