A video available to MyNewsGh.com has revealed a cargo truck that has been busted by Police for attempting to smuggle people from Accra to Walewale in the North East Region of Ghana
According to MyNewsGh.com source, the Ashanti Regional Police Command made the Godly intervention as they impounded the cargo truck at Ejisu with goods hidden beneath.
The over 30 occupants covered with rubber were in a bid to beat security agencies, were making their way to Walewale in the West Mamprusi Municipality
At the background of the heartbreaking video, one could hear the people screaming in pain as they were being pulled from beneath the gods in the cargo truck.
The video is a clear result of the partial lockdown of some parts of Accra and Kumasi.
Some parts of the country have entered a two-week partial lockdown as ordered by the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The directive which took effect at 1 am on Monday, March 30 is one of the drastic measures by the government to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
The lockdown affects areas where significant numbers of virus infections have been recorded. Some parts of the nation’s capital Accra as well as Ashanti regional capital Kumasi, Kasoa and Tema are hit with the 14-day restriction on movements.
