A Prison Officer, Sergeant Edwin David Doh has committed suicide by hanging at Jasikan in the Oti Region following the escape of a prisoner that led to his dismissal, MyNewsGh.com reports.

Police suspect foul play but revealed that investigations
have commenced into the incident to establish the actual cause of death.
It is gathered that Sergeant Edwin David Doh was dismissed from the service in connection with a prisoner escape at Afloa but was found hanging on a tree weeks after his sack.

A police situational report (SITREP) sighted by MyNewsGh.com reads in part “police visited the scene and the body was inspected but no foul play detected. The body has since been removed and deposited at Hohoe government hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy”
