The Minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu will once again contest for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries unopposed.
Haruna Iddrisu went unopposed and won in 2004, 2008 and 2012.
At the close of nominations on Friday, he was among the few people who stood unchallenged in their quest to stand for election to lead the NDC for their respective parliamentary seats in the 2020 elections.
The former Minister for Employment and Labour Relations would have been in parliament for 16 years by 2020.
Other interesting developments seen at the close of nominations for the NDC primaries in the Northern Region is the decision of former Roads and Highways Minister, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini not to contest in the upcoming polls.
Ibrahim M. Murtala, Hanan Gundadow, and Alhaji Alhassan Adam are rather contesting for the Tamale Central seat.
