During the event, Kim and Kourtney painted rocks to commemorate those harmed by radiation and chemicals and rallied in support of its long overdue cleanup.

While she was there, Kim was gifted a painted rock by little Grace Bumstead, a two time cancer survivor. Grace is the daughter of Melissa Bumstead, who ran the event.

The Santa Susana Field Laboratory is a former nuclear reactor and rocket-engine testing facility located in the hills above the Simi and San Fernando Valleys. On July 13, 1959, power began to rise rapidly in the core of the Sodium Reactor Experiment (SRE) leading to a partial meltdown.
